Today’s students are embracing generative AI faster than any previous technology, often adopting it before adults fully understand how it works. From homework help to image creation, AI is becoming part of their daily learning and social lives. While this creates exciting opportunities for creativity and problem-solving, it also introduces important questions about privacy, ethics, and responsible use.

To support educators, Palo Alto Networks, in partnership with Cyberlite, has developed the AI Safety in the Classroom Toolkit, a set of ready-to-use lessons that combines short videos from CyberFit Nation: The Future of AI Unfolds with hands-on learning activities. Each 30-minute lesson builds critical thinking to help students become informed, ethical, and safe AI users.

Workshop Features

  • Modular format: Choose lessons most relevant to your curriculum.
  • Flexible and interactive lesson structure: Keep students engaged with hands-on activities, AI tool demonstrations, and discussion prompts.
  • Teacher-friendly: Ready-to-use slide decks, lesson plans, and student handouts to support sustainable learning.

Workshop Modules

Lesson 1: What is AI Anyway?

Learn the foundations of how generative AI learns from data, skills to engineer effective prompts, and how to recognise bias in its outputs.

Lesson 2: AI or Human?

Understand how deepfakes and digital clones are created, their potential risks, and key skills for detecting AI-generated content.

Lesson 3: AI for Environmental Good

Learn how AI tackles global environmental challenges and work together to design creative, ethical AI-for-good solutions.

Lesson 4: AI Recommendation Engines

Explore how AI collects and uses data to personalise feeds, and reflect on the trade-offs between personalisation, bias, and privacy.
